An article of Jornal Têxtil newspaper, released last February, refers all the new investments and achievements of Trimalhas, which has enabled us to set other strong targets for the rest of the year.
After being distinguished with the PME Excellence Statute 2017, the first two months of 2018 were super significant for the internationalization process of Trimalhas. We were present at four international fairs, including the Première Vision Paris, relevant events to gather new contacts and to attract buyers attention for the Spring-Summer 2019 collection.Jornal Têxtil describes the most recent certifications of Trimalhas, also important to improve the presence of the company in the international market. Recycled Claim Standard, Better Cotton Initiative and Organic Content Standard certifications joined the Global Organic Textile Standard one.
The sustainability and the concern with the environment are already defining characteristics of Trimalhas. The newspaper talked about the adjustments and improvements that have been made, such as recycling or energy saving. Trimalhas is "green from the inside out".
Other topic was the opening of a Trimalhas branch in Barcelona. Being Spain the main export market, with big brands like Zara, Uterqüe and Mango at the top of the chain, it made perfect sense to continue to score points in the neighbouring country. In Barcelona we now have a showroom and a team of employees focused on this objective. The same one exists in the British market, where Next is relevant. The main target of Trimalhas is 40% of direct export.
After an investment of 5 million euros, after a long time of work to improve the equipment and the facilities of the company and currently with a staff of 75 employees, is all set to reach a turnover around 15 million euros, in 2018. And this is our key to success: the market demands more and more and we must always be up to it.
